What Spices For Venison Sausages

...*** * The Quebec Delegate General in France accredited to the Elysee

The Québec Delegate General in France, Michel Robitaille, was received on December 3 at the Elysee Palace to give the president, Nicolas Sarkozy, the Prime Minister's letter of Quebec seeking its formal accreditation with the French authorities. This meeting took place in a ceremony bringing 25 foreign ambassadors in France gathered to submit their letter of credit.

Mr. Robitaille took office last October 4. Also appointed personal representative of Prime Minister with the Francophonie, he served as sherpa to the Francophonie Summit in Montreux. He was also alongside Premier Jean Charest during his meetings with President Nicolas Sarkozy and Prime Minister Francois Fillon in the framework of "16th meeting of alternating French and Quebec premiers", held in Paris on 25 and 26 November .

Before taking office in Paris, Michel Robitaille occupied since 2008 as president and CEO of the Centre de la Francophonie of the Americas. Official career, he has over thirty years experience in international affairs, both in Quebec and abroad. He has been managing director Quebec to New York from 2002 to 2007 and Director General of the Missions Department of International Relations, from 1999 to 2002.

In the coming months, the managing director has a mandate to carry forward the implementation of the Québec-France Agreement on mutual recognition of professional qualifications, signed in Quebec in October 2008, and to ensure the preparation of the celebrations in 2011, the 50th anniversary of Quebec's presence in France.

Established since 1961, the Québec Government Office in Paris has acquired, following an agreement in 1964, diplomatic status similar to that of an embassy. The privileged relationship between France and Quebec is expressed through a diplomatic device whereby the General Delegation of Québec in Paris and the Consulate General of France in Quebec provide direct government to government communications. Since 1977, both governments formalize alternating missions led by the premiers of Quebec and French, a political arrangement that epitomizes the direct and special relationship between France and Quebec.

Sincerely,
Morgane BRAVO
