...*** * The Quebec Delegate General in France accredited to the Elysee

The Québec Delegate General in France, Michel Robitaille, was received on December 3 at the Elysee Palace to give the president, Nicolas Sarkozy, the Prime Minister's letter of Quebec seeking its formal accreditation with the French authorities. This meeting took place in a ceremony bringing 25 foreign ambassadors in France gathered to submit their letter of credit.

Mr. Robitaille took office last October 4. Also appointed personal representative of Prime Minister with the Francophonie, he served as sherpa to the Francophonie Summit in Montreux. He was also alongside Premier Jean Charest during his meetings with President Nicolas Sarkozy and Prime Minister Francois Fillon in the framework of "16th meeting of alternating French and Quebec premiers", held in Paris on 25 and 26 November .

Before taking office in Paris, Michel Robitaille occupied since 2008 as president and CEO of the Centre de la Francophonie of the Americas. Official career, he has over thirty years experience in international affairs, both in Quebec and abroad. He has been managing director Quebec to New York from 2002 to 2007 and Director General of the Missions Department of International Relations, from 1999 to 2002.

In the coming months, the managing director has a mandate to carry forward the implementation of the Québec-France Agreement on mutual recognition of professional qualifications, signed in Quebec in October 2008, and to ensure the preparation of the celebrations in 2011, the 50th anniversary of Quebec's presence in France.

Established since 1961, the Québec Government Office in Paris has acquired, following an agreement in 1964, diplomatic status similar to that of an embassy. The privileged relationship between France and Quebec is expressed through a diplomatic device whereby the General Delegation of Québec in Paris and the Consulate General of France in Quebec provide direct government to government communications. Since 1977, both governments formalize alternating missions led by the premiers of Quebec and French, a political arrangement that epitomizes the direct and special relationship between France and Quebec.

Emerging Issues: Towards Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement Canada-EU

Jean Charest and Nicolas Sarkozy want that cultural diversity is protected by the future free trade agreement Canada-Europe.

The Quebec premier was received Friday morning by the President of the Republic French at the Elysee Palace. They agreed, Mr. Charest said after the meeting, to include in the agreement currently being negotiated a clause recognizing the right of every State to protect its culture. He said the issue is "the most immediate."
"We want the agreement is very clear on the ability of states to support their cultural sector, said Prime Minister. We agreed to work together to ensure that there is a recognition of the sovereignty of both Canadian and Quebec in our areas of expertise on the culture. "

Under the agreement on Cultural Diversity adopted by UNESCO, culture is, in theory, free market forces. The Canada-Europe, in the eyes of Jean Charest, an opportunity to strengthen this principle.
Maintenance Charest-Sarkozy lasted 50 minutes. Jean Charest then went to the Hotel Matignon, which awaited his counterpart Francois Fillon in "encounters alternating" between French and Quebec premiers.
Both men are at the end of their working session to sign various agreements.

"The Institute for Entrepreneurial Mentoring (IME) is not a nth support structure for businesses. There is a specific target, so far insufficiently promoted in our country: SMEs with high growth potential .

The idea came to me from its inception a few months ago in Quebec, at a symposium of the Foundation Entrepreneurship on the business mentoring. Among them, the creators may be accompanied by experienced business executives.

Such sharing of experience between mentor and mentee based on an ethical commitment, caring and totally unselfish. Enthused, I imagined that we could effectively implement this system in our country. But with one difference: here, there is help, not the creators, already also well attended, but leaders of SMEs with high growth potential.

So I proposed this idea to Peter Simon, President of the CCIP and then worked with the team at EMI and partners to create this new service to entrepreneurs.

is under the patronage and presence of Christine Lagarde, Minister of Economy, Industry and Employment, which we inaugurated the Institute of Entrepreneurial Mentoring and launched the first class of entrepreneurs on April 15, 2008 " .

Employers recruiting in Quebec

Resume in hand, immigration project in mind, hundreds of French people are pressed, the 16 to 18 November to meet with recruiters present Quebec Destination Canada Job Forum which was held in Paris.

Over 400 positions were offered in areas with strong demand in Quebec as computing, engineering, catering, hospitality and health. Among the fifteen Quebec recruiters to fill vacancies were CGI, Dessau, Fujitsu Consulting, and Recruitment Health Desjardins Quebec.

The engineering firm Dessau sought in France "engineers with expertise rare in North America, for example in the rail sector that is much more developed in Europe," said Human Resources Advisor, Aurélie Gallo. The company also coveted geologists and geotechnical engineers ready to settle in the regions of Quebec.

indispensable partner of the event, Quebec Immigration Office provided, as he does every day in his Paris office, all the necessary information to potential recruits in regard to administrative procedures to undertake . The team helped as candidates for expatriation to find, depending on their age, and project needs, the most appropriate solution between temporary work permits and permanent residence.

In the crowd, we met a young couple who plans to emigrate to Quebec in June He is an engineer and computer network system, she kinesiologist. Their experience at the Forum was somewhat different. He was already able to have interviews with two firms operating in information technology. "Quebec needs of IT professionals specializing in all sectors of its industry and France as much," said Erik Sadiki Jalil, director of employment center international partner of the event. For

the young woman, the road to employment looks a bit longer. At the booth of Health Recruitment Quebec, we have indeed warned that his profession was governed by a professional order in Quebec. The process of applying equivalence will therefore be undertaken even before the kinesiologist can start your job search. This occupation has not signed a Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) as part of the Quebec-France for the recognition of professional qualifications , concluded in 2008. It aims to reduce the burden for the recognition of qualifications for workers than sixty regulated trades and professions.
