In 2006, during our trip to Bangladesh, we had the "opportunity" (Not surprisingly, foreigners are not necessarily welcome in this area) to go see this "graveyard of ships" to CHITTAGONG.
is where we cut up, break, breaks, sorts, retrieves all that is recoverable from our larger vessels, the flagship of an international fleet, when they arrive end exploitation.
On the beach, hundreds of "little ants" are busy in mud odors, diesel, ... and probably worse.
They work 12-14 hours a day, 6 days a week and a half (only half a day off on Friday for prayers because they are mostly Muslims.) And are paid $ 1 25 per day ...
is their only livelihood.
That day, as paradoxical as it may be, these workers were waiting with impatience, a new boat to "reverse engineer" ... because no boat, no job! They asked us to take pictures for evidence.
